Our Training Philosophy
- To establish and develop a swimming programme at North Cronulla, from the “grass roots” with the Head Coach being “hands on” at all levels.
- Focus on establishing good swimming technique from the beginning by utilising proven drills and sets.
- Ensure all swimmers carry out training of all four swim strokes. (For injury prevention and natural strength training.)
- Gradually encourage swimmers to specialise in their own specific chosen areas of interest ie. Water Polo, Surf, triathlon, open water, still water etc.
- To establish and develop a training programme at North Cronulla which will be the envy of other sporting bodies.
- To develop and implement a dry land training programme suitable for all swimming related activities, involving strength training, core body work and flexibility.
- To continue to promote and encourage swimmers to participate in all aspects of swimming competition.
- Create a willing environment where swimmers are fully supported and encouraged to pursue their own chosen direction.
- Create an environment where swimmers want to improve and excel.
- Set progressive achievable goals and targets to make the above possible.
- Establish and develop a quality environment of excellence in all swimming disciplines.
- Have fun whilst achieving all of the above.
